NRG Health & Fitness: Bohermore club

NRG Health & Fitness is one of the leading gyms in Galway. Our Bohermore club is ideally located in Cúirt Seoige, close to Galway city centre. This club is only a 5 minute walk from Eyre Square and there is free car parking available, which makes our Bohermore club the perfect gym of choice for anyone who is working in the city centre of Galway. The gym has a full range of cardiovascular equipment, resistance machines and free weights. NRG Health & Fitness Bohermore also has a 20 metre swimming pool, along with a spa suite which includes a sauna, steam room, tylarium and a jacuzzi – which makes it an ideal place to wind down and relax. Members of our Bohermore club will also benefit from complimentary fitness classes, as well as access to our Knocknacarra club.

Our Bohermore club has got a luxurious swimming pool and a relaxing spa suite. Swimming lessons in groups and in private are also available.

Bohermore: Operating Policies and Procedures

We will be REOPENING on 06/07/2020!

This exciting news comes much earlier than we anticipated, but we are delighted to welcome you back to our facilities!

With the reopening, comes adjustments and precautions to create a safe and healthy environment for our staff and our valued members.

What to Expect:
CLEAN HANDS – Upon entry AND exit, hand sanitation will be required

MEMBERSHIP CARDS/FOBS – Upon entry to the building, swiping your membership card will be mandatory. A record of all individuals in our facilities must be kept for any possible need for contact tracing.

ONE WAY System – There will now be an entry and exit door. Additionally there will be a flow system throughout the building (signage will guide you, and as always our staff is on hand to help)

NO GEAR BAGS – towels and water will be permitted but we request that gear bags be left in the car or at home

CHANGING ROOMS – Members will have limited access, we ask our members to plan ahead to shower at home when possible.

CLASSES – Following social distancing requirements, class sizes will be LIMITED.

LIMITED NUMBERS – Restricted numbers will be permitted into our facilities. If numbers are excessive, or certain times become overcrowded, there is potential for a booking system to be put in place to help adhere to social distancing requirements from the government.

STATIONS – upon entry you will have an option to choose what area of exercise you wish to utilize. Stations will be a section of work area for you to work safely within for the duration of the workout. This station will be your area safely sectioned off to adhere to social distancing requirements.

CHOOSE, USE, CLEAN – This is our new slogan. When you enter the workout space, you will
CHOOSE a space to complete your workout, select equipment necessary to complete
your workout, bring them to your “station”
USE use the equipment you have in your station. You will not be permitted to move around freely taking weights/equipment from other stations, this is an attempt to adhere to social distancing as much as possible to create a safe environment for everyone in our facilities.
CLEAN any equipment being used MUST BE CLEANED before AND after your workout. This limits contamination for yourself, and the members who will follow you. Dumbbells, plates, bars, steps, seats, benches MUST BE CLEANED

PHONES – phones will be permitted on the premises, but we ask that use is limited while using our facility. Phones are a major transferrer of dirt and bacteria and we request that the use of devices be limited to avoid cross contamination for yourself and others around.

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN – We will have sanitation stations throughout the gym. Stations include sanitizing sprays, disposable blue paper, and hand sanitizer for your health and safety. Additional cleaning will be carried out by staff throughout the day to increase health and safety measure adherence.

Gym

NRG Health & Fitness Bohermore is equipped with state-of-the-art gym facilities with top quality equipment for excellent results.

Classes are a great way of burning calories and building muscle strength. During a class, you will be guided and motivated by a highly qualified fitness instructor.

15/15/15
Cardio, weights & core, 15 minutes of each – a little bit of everything! The cardio aspect of this class will be spinning,
then to the studio a variation of weight and core exercises.

20/20/20
Cardio, weights & core, 20 minutes of each – a little bit of everything! The cardio aspect of this class will be spinning,

Beat the Box
Beat the Box is a complete body workout based around an agility grid and hurdle all in one. Beat the Box uses four
squares to take the place of an agility ladder and easily folds into a hurdle.

Begin to Spin
Want to get into spinning, but don’t know where to start? Our instructors will teach you how to set up the bike
safely and efficiently to get the most out of this fun and fast paced cardio workout. Towels are required for all
spinning classes.

Bootcamp
Bootcamp consists of whole-body workout consisting of weights (kettlebells, barbells, dumbbells etc…) cardio & core
exercises. The equipment used will vary from class to class.

Box Bootcamp*
Box Bootcamp is a fun, high energy, stress busting class. The class consists of boxing movements using dumbbells,
boxing gloves & pads to enhance balance, timing, speed, agility, endurance and hand-eye coordination.

Cardio Bells
A total body workout that combines power and strength movements to build stamina and total body strength
using kettlebells while throwing in cardio exercise to improve your cardiovascular fitness.

Circuits*
High intensity whole body workout that consists of different stations ranging from weights & body weight exercises
to cardio & core.

Core Blaster
Strengthening core muscles (stomach & back) and stabilising your body for all activities in and out of the gym.

Guns n Core
Looking to build strength in your arms & core then this is the class for you. This a weights class that will work on your shoulders, biceps, triceps & core. You will be guaranteed to leave with a pump.

Heated Pilates
This class focuses on strengthening the core postural muscles to provide support for the spine and to keep the body
balanced. The room will be heated to help you loosen up and to get a good sweat on.

H.I.I.T
High Intensity Interval Training is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through
quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets
and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

Kettle Bells
A total body workout that combines power and strength movements to build stamina and total body strength
using kettlebells

Strength & Power
This weights-based class is designed to build strength and power. It will consist of weight exercises using various
pieces of equipment such as barbell, kettlebell dumbbells etc… Some explosive movements will also be added.

Legs & Core
Looking tone & sculpt your legs & core then this is the class for you. This a weights class that will work on your quads, hamstring, glutes & core. You should be really feeling this one 1-2 days after.

NRG Body Pump
This barbell class will shape, tone and strengthen your entire body. A barbell will be the main piece of equipment
used with some dumbbells throwing in.

Spin*
Fun and challenging workout that guarantees to burn calories fast while conditioning the body. We travel on flat
roads, climb hills, and do sprints all in the comfort of our spinning studio. Towels are required for all spinning classes.

Pump  Core
This barbell class will shape, tone and strengthen your entire body. A barbell will be the main piece of equipment
used with some dumbbells throwing in. Throughout the class core exercises will be included to work on those abs.

Rapid Fire*
Rapid Fire is probably one of the toughest classes we have to offer. It involves cardio, core, & weight exercises. This
is a high intensity circuit-based class that will consist of a whole-body workout while burning away plenty of calories. Guaranteed to leave very sweaty.

Spin & Core
Fun and challenging workout that guarantees to burn calories fast while conditioning the body. We travel on flat
roads, climb hills, and do sprints all in the comfort of our spinning studio. 45mins of spin finished off with 15mins
core exercises. Towels are required for all spinning classes.

Stretch & Mobility
Accommodating all muscle groups, relax from the week while reducing tension and gaining flexibility. Increase your
range of motion and efficiency of your workouts.

Total Body Workout
This is a whole-body workout using various equipment barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells. You will work the main
muscle groups from top to bottom, with some cardio exercises tossed in.

TRX Fusion
TRX Fusion class incorporates numerous TRX suspension exercises along with body weight, free weight & cardio
exercises. This class will develop strength and endurance as well as improve balance, flexibility, & core strength.

Zumba
Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines
incorporate interval training, alternating fast and slow rhythms to help improve cardiovascular fitness.

Polar Classes*

Any class that has an asterisk symbol (*) means you can wear a heart rate
monitor during the class to monitor your heart rate. You can see how
hard you are working while your heart rate goes through the different
zones. The instructor will push you to reach your full potential. It will
also track your calories burnt and each session is saved to your account
to review afterwards. NRG provide everything and hear rate monitors
are available to purchase at reception.

Swimming

Swimming is low impact but high reward exercise. Swimming provides an all-over body workout, as most of the muscles in your body are being used.

Our swimming pool is 20 metres long and 4’6″ deep.

Swimming lessons

After a tough day at the office or a demanding workout, there’s nothing better than spending some time in our spa area to unwind your mind, body and soul.

Why not soak in our jacuzzi for a few minutes? Or have a seat in our steam room, which will warm your entire body and open up your airways while inhaling eucalyptus aromas. You can also try our sauna to get your blood circulating and stretch away the pains from your day. At our Bohermore club, you will also find a tylarium – a combination of a steam room and a sauna.
